About SightLab

SightLab Cost helps developers estimate, compare, and explain cloud infrastructure costs before the bill arrives. It is not a price table. It is a decision tool: enter real usage, normalize billing units, show the full calculation, and label every source.

The project is operated by SightLab editors, an independent editorial effort. We are not a cloud reseller, not a managed-service consultancy, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, or DigitalOcean. Provider names and product names are used only to identify publicly listed services.

Who this is for

The tools are written for people who design or pay for cloud workloads: developers shipping a side project, FinOps and DevOps engineers comparing a default region, and architects who need a number they can defend in a review. If you need a signed quote, a reserved-instance optimizer, or a bill ingest pipeline, this is the wrong product — and we say so on the methodology page.

• English and Chinese UI, USD / CNY display, light and dark theme

Editorial standards

Every estimate is derived from publicly available on-demand list prices. Calculators never hard-code prices in the UI; they read a published, validated JSON snapshot. A failed sync keeps the previous snapshot live rather than showing a guessed number. If an official API and a service pricing page disagree, we treat the service pricing page as the source of truth.

We do not apply enterprise discounts, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, or CUDs. We do not ingest your real bill. We do not tell you which cloud is “best.” Estimates are informational only.

Advertising and how the site is funded

The calculators require no account and have no paywall. To cover hosting and data-refresh costs, the site may display third-party advertisements (including Google AdSense) on content pages. Ads are never a condition of using a calculator. Placement is kept away from primary buttons so accidental clicks are less likely. Details, cookies, and opt-out links are in the Privacy Policy.
