Interface VPC endpoints

Private endpoints bill hourly plus per-GB processing.

Private connectivity to AWS APIs is two products with opposite price shapes. Gateway endpoints for Amazon S3 and DynamoDB carry no hourly charge and no processing charge; they exist so that traffic to those two services can leave NAT. Interface endpoints, billed as AWS PrivateLink, charge per endpoint per Availability Zone per hour plus a regional per-gigabyte processing ladder that declines only at petabyte scale. A team that private-links every AWS service across three AZs recreates a large hourly floor before a packet moves. Some AWS services fold interface endpoint cost into the service bill, which is why a line can vanish from VPC and reappear elsewhere. Those endpoint SKUs are not in this snapshot, so this page stays qualitative and binds storage SKUs only as the usual reason people open the PrivateLink page. Start with free gateway endpoints, then add interface endpoints where NAT processing or public exposure is the larger problem.
